UIU 2020 Virtual Conference

Slide Register Here!

This year’s conference theme is “Let Them See Us / Ka Ha Hu Anyi”. This was selected in light of the pandemic affecting the black race more than any other racial demographic, the continued racial injustice happening across the globe, and social issues that affect Igbo families; whether in the diaspora or in Nigeria. Our theme encompasses all that has taken place in our communities since the beginning of 2020, and serves as an opportunity to show the world our drive, our resilience, our intelligence, and our excellence, despite our ever-present hardships.

The FREE one-day conference will address three crucial areas of civic engagement in our community: business and economic empowerment, culture and community, and technology and innovation. This year is UIU’s opportunity to provide a virtual space for attendees to remotely connect with peers and speakers in a unique and dynamic way. We hope you’ll join us for this important event. There will also be an opportunity to give back to our Igboland project through our UIUCares program and the Speed Dating conference element. Whether you’re making a new friend, or meeting the love of your life, there is joy in that. And not only is joy the fuel that keeps us going, it is our peaceful protest against the chains that dare subdue us. Put you first today and join our speed dating session. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the UIUCares Covid Relief Fund.
